Our Network

Mission

Through strong partnerships, deliver exceptional care and eliminate equity gaps to ensure all children are healthy and thriving.

Background

There are gaps in evidence-based care provided to our pediatric population. Children and adolescents should have access to high quality health care that promotes overall physical and mental health and wellbeing.

How PINQ was formed

The significantly worsened care gaps that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic required us to take a formal approach to ensure children’s health.

PINQ, a formal LHN, grew out of Thrive at Five, a community health initiative focused on identifying and resolving care and educational gaps, such as speech, literacy, and mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

Applying the LHN structure to this existing initiative accelerated learnings, broadened its reach, and eased challenges associated with quality improvement projects. PINQ has also created strong partnerships that support excellent and equitable care in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Population health focus

Health systems are hindered by passive information sharing and few reliable processes to identify care gaps and implement evidence-based practices. To close care gaps, health systems need to take a population health approach and create opportunities for partnership, collaboration, shared learning, and scale.

PINQ’s regional participants, referred to as Improvement Teams, focus on population health through delivery of pediatric healthcare. Eligible participants include:

  • Pediatric private practices

  • Family practices

  • Subspecialty practices

  • Behavioral health organizations

  • Federally Qualified Health Centers

  • Any entity affiliated with hospital systems (both within and outside of the Cincinnati Children’s network)
